Ford Mustang drivers are always looking for more power and for 2012 that is exactly what they will get! Motor Authority is reporting that the GT500 model will be using the new 5.0L Coyote V8 engine and adding a pair of turbos to generate up to 600hp. Considering how much Ford is pushing their Ecoboost twin turbo engines these days this should not come as a surprise to most. The changes for the Mustang being with the 2011 model Mustang with a brand new 3.7L V6 engine producing a whopping 315hp and the 5.0L Coyote V8 producing 400hp.
That is some serious power that Ford is putting into all of its Mustang models. 600hp is Viper, ZR1 and Ferrari territory. The aftermarket alread replaces the current GT500’s supercharger to twin turbo setups in high hp applications; this change is going to make it even easier to produce more power!
