Get rid of that old car… its not safe!

500x_belair_malibu_lg

In celebration of 50 years since the IIHS was founded they performed a study to show how far safety in vehicles has improved. To demonstrate they took a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu and a 1959 Chevrolet Bel-Air and decided to perform a head on crash.  The results speak for themselves.  The driver of the modern vehicle would have escaped with relatively few injuries, unfortunately the driver of the 1959 Bel-Air would have been seriously injured or possibly have died.  Safety should be a top concern when shopping for a vehicle for your family.   A video of the crash by the IIHS is available after the jump.

At Autodome safety is of paramount concern to us. Bring in your older vehicle as a trade in and we will get you into a modern vehicle that is safe for you and your family. Don’t forget to visit our website at www.autodome.ca
